With a heartwarming selection of dishes and an unpretentious atmosphere, it’s a gastronomic experience that shouldn’t be overlooked.
Located conveniently behind a Shell Gas Station, Taqueria El Asador may not boast a fancy facade, but don’t let that fool you. This place has won the hearts of many locals with its rich, mouthwatering offerings. Whether you're craving a savory burrito stuffed with your choice of meats, or the classic taco bursting with fresh cilantro and lime, each dish here embodies an authentic taste of Mexico. The burrito—a delightful combination of beans, rice, and succulent meat—can be yours for just $8, while the flavorful regular tacos come at a mere $2 each, making every bite a steal.
The menu doesn't stop at burritos and tacos; indulge in their quesadillas or tortas for a true Mexican feast. The quesadilla features mozzarella cheese with your choice of meat, while the torta serves up layers of flavor with delicious beans, lettuce, and queso fresco, all for just $6. Diners rave about the quality of the ingredients—chorizo sausage, pastor pork, asada steak, campechano (a mix of asada and chorizo), and lengua (beef tongue)—that come together to create an unforgettable meal.
What truly sets Taqueria El Asador apart is its commitment to flavor. Customers have praised the steak burrito as “the best ever,” noting its slow-smoked goodness and the harmonious balance of spices throughout each dish. The unique “orange hot sauce” has also earned a loyal following, enticing patrons to come back for more. As one diner exclaimed, “This place was incredible!”—a testament to the sheer delight that fills each dining experience.
Despite its modest surroundings, the welcoming open dining area becomes a backdrop for fulfilling street-style meals. “ As the name suggests, it is a Mexican restaurant, and it is closer to the taste of Mexico than the localized fusion restaurant that you eat in the US. It is not a fancy restaurant, but it is easy to understand if you think of it as a food truck or a street food shop. The price of food has gone up a little, but it is still a cheap restaurant. I think this kind of restaurant is also good in Pensacola, even though seafood is good. However, it is easy to miss the entrance, so please note that it is behind the Shell Gas Station. ”
“ Open dining area near a gas station. Came for the first time because of high google review. Very satisfied with the food! Steak is delicious! ”
“ This place was incredible! The best burrito and tacos I've ever had! The orange hot sauce in the squirt bottles is fabulous! ”
“ Don't let the unassuming location behind a gas station fool you; Taqueria El Asador in Pensacola is a must-try for any taco aficionado. This place delivers big on flavor and speed, making it a perfect spot for a quick, delicious meal. ”
“ Ordered delivery today and HOLY SMOKES absolutely delicious. The steak burrito is so good. The steak immediately hit my taste buds and I can't even begin to tell you how good it is. It was like the slow smoked grilled it for hours. Seriously have not had better. The rice has just as much flavor to it. The beans were a little different being that they had a soupy consistency. But very good as well. Legit run to this place don't walk. You wont regret it! The only thing is that I wish they had chips and made their own house salsa. ”
“ Street tacos as good as home, not the typical southern Mexican food I dread when visiting. Parking is fine but don’t miss the turn into the Shell gas station parking lot. Food truck with lots of covered tables are in the back. ”
“ Heard about this spot so I tried it and the burritos are huge and on point. Service was great as well. Got mine to go took about 3 minutes and has a cool area to sit with family, I will be back all the time ”
“ while vacationing here in Pensacola I stumbled upon this amazing food truck! While every table (about 20) was full of hungry tavo eaters, the line entertwined through tables and then around the outside of the covered seated area. Being the Foodie that I am, I absolutely knew withouutllt an ounce of doubt that I had to try it! I ordered 6 tacos . Pastor, lingua and asada. I fell in love with each bite, each unique flavor and each type of salsa I tried! oh my gosh, this place is absolutely the best and deserves well more than 5 's. if you are in Pensacola, whether you live here or are vacationing here, do me a favor please add them to your list of places to eat! You will be absolutely thrilled with this choice! . . #creatorsearchinsights #tacos #Pensacola #foodietribe #fyp #following #teamjeremy #genx #encouraging #travelinganddonuts #donutsandtraveling #positivity #Encouragement #thinklocal #supportlocal #eatlocal ”
